Equine Treatment
Equine Bowen Therapy is a non-invasive remedial treatment that works specific muscles and tendons within the horses’ body to promote healing and full body realignment.
A Bowen Therapist will assess the horse by making observations, palpating and performing a full Equine Bowen treatment. An equine Bowen treatment involves the therapist performing a number of gentle moves working the whole of the horse’s body with small rest periods intermittently throughout the treatment, allowing the horses brain to process the information and being responding immediately.
Bowen Therapy helps to release and realign the horses’ muscular structure, and releases the body’s natural endorphins to aid pain relief. Bowen can help with nerve release, allowing messages to travel and arrive at the brain in an understandable fashion. This can help the horses’ body’s systems to deal with any past trauma and helps to correct the body’s neurological and physical memory pattern. Bowen helps to boost the immune system and helps with stress, whether physical or emotional, as it has a calming effect on the body’s systems.

An Equine Bowen Therapist will consider all the aspects that the horse is subjected to; the saddle, the rider, the horses’ teeth, shoeing and so on. After a treatment the therapist may refer you to a sadder, vet, equine dentist, farrier/ barefoot trimmer, or another therapist if it is felt necessary. The therapist may also advise you on stretches you can do with your horse to help improve your horses’ way of going.

"Charlotte's assessment and treatment of the horses has enabled them to cope with the rigours of training and competing and keeps them in the best possible shape. One horse had a tendency to fall out to the right when working on a left handed circle. Albeit subtle, this had been a long term issue and was a major focus of schooling at home. After two sessions with Charlotte there was a noticeable improvement which has enabled the horse to progress far more effectively with his training. Charlotte also helps keep me in good physical shape, particularly after any falls! She's a valuable member of our team."
